We highly suggest adding our custom tune to pair with this impeller as they really thrive off of each other as our tune allows for the vehicle to rev to a higher RPM without closing the throttle and limiting power. We always suggest a new wear ring when installing a new impeller.  We always keep with and suggest plastic.   They are much easier to change out if you have an issue, and we believe it's best to have a weak spot.  Since the AA impeller is much stronger, it's important for the wear ring to give out.  We've used both, and won't go back to a stainless ring.
