The AA Boost Control Box manipulates MAP sensor data to increase boost pressure. This is all done live by turning the rotary switch for easy adjustments on the fly. If you'd like, the switch can be disconnected and your last switch position will be saved. This is a plug & play device that installs easily, and leaves no trace that it was ever there. The 2022 Ace 900 R is quick out of the box, but why stop there? The potential for the is so much more. The intake, turbocharger and intercooler that come factory on this model make it easy to crank up the horsepower & still maintain low intake temps. We are very impressed by what this sled can do out of the gate with very few modifications. The factory seemed to make the boost come on very lazy, while it peaks out nicely around 17-18 PSI (at our location, 1000ft altitude) it takes a bit to get there. Our tuning increases spool, overall boost and also makes peak boost come on quicker. On pump gas we add 3-4psi of boost which picks up a consistent 1-1.2 seconds in our 45-80mph acceleration tests . This can be tested in real time as you can dial in your boost on the fly, so you can do true back to back runs showing your own gains. Our testing was originally done on a 100% stock sled. Adding exhaust, and our AA clutch kit (coming soon) will improve acceleration even more. Dragy GPS results are shown in product images. All of these tests were done from a steady 40mph hit to 80+mph. This was done as traction was an issue, and this speed starting and ending was the most consistent testing at that time. We always run 4-7 times and show the most consistent average for that tune level/modification. We are avid riders and like the factory, a ton of the testing is done in the field to make sure you are getting 110%. We have made hundreds of passes, and held this setup to the moon and back. You simply can't get any better testing than real world and our RPM increase/dragy GPS results show this. We have a long history of tuning CVT and turbocharged vehicles. Air/fuel ratios tested and verified at each tune level. Originally we thought a fuel box would be needed to pair with this device. We found in testing, adding more fuel with this box only made the vehicle run poorly. Due to how rich they fuel these from the factory and how component protect fueling is set up(consistently going richer the longer you hold the throttle), we found the OEM fuel tables to be the perfect match for up to +3-4psi. We have logged many many miles on this setup to ensure this, and logged for knock protection. For testing sakes, I burned a whole tank of 1 year old fuel pinned on the lake all day. We were drag racing making many back to back 120mph pulls. Still no hiccups or issues whatsoever, just extreme reliability. -Mike Safety parameters to protect your motor and turbocharger are still in place Easily return back to stock with the rotary switch to "Stock" mode, or by removing the AA Boost Control Box Boost Control Box vs ECU tuning: While we would always prefer to calibrate a vehicle by modifying OEM ECU parameters, it's simply not an easy/cheap task on these vehicles due to the hefty security. The Boost Control Box allows us to do what is needed for level 1-3 to increase the boost pressure & power output. This gives the biggest benefit/seat of the pants feel and is all that is needed to put a smile on your face as you wax your buddy. Power gains are right on par with the gains seen on the Ace 900 Turbo R models where we can tune the ECU, so it's not like we are leaving much on the table by not tuning the ECU directly. The 2022 Ace 900 R factory ECU calibration is quite decent, so building upon it by adding simple boost parameters works extremely well. FYI we also have ECU tuning available, but this box is half the price, installs in around 30 minutes, and you have no down time! The Ace 900 Turbo R runs roughly 17-18 PSI of boost from the factory Level 1: +1psi Boost - 91-93 Octane - 190 Crank HP: This tune level has a nice increase of 10hp and is perfect for limiting yourself on longer rides. Can be run with a 100% stock sled, or add exhaust & clutching for even greater performance. Level 2: +2psi Boost - 91-93 Octane - 200 Crank HP: Our Level 2 tune is again designed for 91-93 octane and is very safe. Can be run with a 100% stock sled, or add exhaust & clutching for even greater performance. Level 3: +3-4psi Boost - 91-93 Octane MAX tune - 220 Crank HP: Our Level 3 tune puts the hammer down on 91-93 octane! It will peak around 22-23PSI and sustain around 21-22 PSI. Can be run with a 100% stock sled, or add exhaust & clutching for even greater performance. Level 4: Going to level 4 will not do much as you would need to adjust your wastegate to see higher boost pressure on this mode. If wanting to do this, you would see +5-6psi boost but need to run 100-110 Octane Fuel. Clutching: Peak power is made from 7900-8200 RPM on these models. OEM clutching works well as they normally run 7700-7800 from the factory. With the added power of the boost box, they usually run 8000-8200 which is perfect. We are in development of a clutch kit to push even more power to the track, but for now, OEM works excellent. Exhaust: We found the exhaust on these vehicles flows very well for factory, but still restrictive on spool up. The more boost you run, the more power is being withheld. Aftermarket exhausts will remove heat much better, so your Ace Turbo R will run more consistent and powerful when driving hard. Tune levels explained: We have 3 different pump gas tunes so customers can dial the vehicle to a usable power level for wherever they are riding, and it's somewhat of an RPM cheater. Say you are trail riding mostly and don't need the Level 3 power... but you go to the lake and want it all. You can run Level 1 on the trails and set your clutches up for that, then when you go to the lake, crank it up to Level 2 or 3 and increase peak RPM without adjusting clutching. Sometimes clutching still needs to be done for best performance, but this at least closes the gap so you don't usually HAVE to adjust clutching. For us, this is great on short trips where you just don't have time to change out clutching. Max boost levels are listed as reference only. Altitude, temperature, charge temps, intercooler temps and many other conditions play into a factor of final boost output. Get ready to hang on, your 900 Turbo R is about to transform! Installs easily by plugging into your MAP sensors, battery power, and mounting the switch.
